How is it possible that people still listen to the blatant hypocrisy of some politicians and pundits? Every word coming out of their mouths is obviously The only possible explanation for anybody believing any of it is hypnosis, for why else would we believe what we hear, day after day, night after night? "Hypnocrites."

I agree with most everything. But why would you use the deaths of our American men and women to prove a political point, especially in a cartoon?
And before you answer, I reject any argument that relies on or refers to the idea that the deaths of American soldiers is a political issue.
In response to the comment above- I generally do not explain cartoons, but that leaves me open to criticism from those not as minutely focused on news as myself. Here is the explanation:
Wolf Blitzer asked John Boehner, the leader of the GOP in the House, this question (video on Horse's Mouth):
"The loss in blood, the Americans who are killed every month, how much longer do you think this commitment, this military commitment is going to require?"
And Mr. Boehner responded:
"The investment that we're making today will be a small price if we're able to stop al Qaeda here, if we're able to stabilize the Middle East, it's not only going to be a small price for the near future, but think about the future for our kids and their kids."
Don't you think he was referring to a "small price compared to what we may have to sacrifice in the future?"
